The success of Skyrim and its impact on pop culture has made fans very excited for the next entry in the Elder Scrolls series. We already know that Bethesda is developing Elder Scrolls 6, but what else do we know about the upcoming title?
Since being revealed in 2018, the Elder Scrolls 6 has become one of the most anticipated titles in the gaming community. Despite having little information to go on, fans can help but be eager to get their hands on the game. We’ve compiled a list of everything we know about the upcoming title for those who are really excited about it.
Release date and console
Bethesda’s Pete Hines brought some bad news recently as he says that there will be no news about the next game until a few years from now. This only means that the game is still far from our reach too.
The big takeaway from this is that the next game will not be made for current gen consoles. Considering that it’s still deep into development, the next game will be made for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, which both launches by the end of this year.
Another good news is that Bethesda isn’t keen on revealing full games and then releasing them years later. In fact, Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion, Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim, and Fallout 4 were released within only a few months of their full reveal.
The setting
The Elder Scrolls series takes us through the various regions of Tamriel. Where will Elder Scrolls 6 take us next?
The teaser trailer revealed in E3 2018 has been picked apart by fans countless times already. Bethesda’s Todd Howard himself has admitted before that there are clues in the trailer that points to where the next game will be set. Die-hard fans of the franchise already have their bets on where the next game will be.
One of the most popular theories is that the game will be set in High Rock, considering that it has already been covered in previous titles, albeit in a discreet manner. Another popular theory is that the game will be set in Elswyr. It’s unlikely that Bethesda will take the game back to previous settings to Daggerfall, Skyrim, and Blackwood are off the table.
The Elder Scrolls 6 will be a huge game when it launches. With such high expectations from it, Bethesda should do its best to ensure that the title comes off as a step up from Skyrim and not the other way around.
