Microsoft and Bethesda just revealed the newest DLC for Elder Scrolls Online. In the video, the studio is releasing Gates of Oblivion, a multi-part DLC storyline.
Bethesda delayed its Elder Scrolls Online announcement to prevent being buried by the presidential inauguration.
Now, Bethesda showed off Gates of Oblivion, which is a year-long adventure for their MMO. The company announced a variety of details that players would surely love.
Oblivion kicks off with new DLC this March
For starters, the upcoming Gates of Oblivion DLC will kick off with a DLC pack on March 8. The DLC, called Flames of Ambition, will include a couple of PvE dungeons. It also involves a raid against the shrine of Mehrunes Dagon.
Our next Chapter is called The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood and will be coming to all platforms June 2021.https://t.co/EB8xP9Uj6k pic.twitter.com/OVb6hCGeFc

Mehrunes Dagon is this year’s villain known in ESO lore as the daedric prince of destruction. Players would fight off Mythic Dawn cultists, which seem to follow Dagon.
By June 1, the DLC titled Blackwood will be available, acting as ESO’s more prominent, fuller expansion.
It will add a few zones into the game which ties into this storyline. These include the Niben Forest, the Blackwood Bog, and the city of Leyawiin as seen in Oblivion.
Blackwood will also be adding a few new features that solo players would want to take advantage of.
The new Companion System allows players to recruit NPC followers, similar to most single-player RPGs.
These companions will have their own stories, character, and skills. They will also level up and will have some customizable gear to help your adventure.
Gates of Oblivion to add more features
The Gates of Oblivion will have more additions as time goes by. For example, a 12-player trial called Rockgrove will come over time.
There will also be more public dungeons, raid quests, world-bosses, and standalone quests.
World events will also happen that will open the portals to Oblivion. The latter half of the DLC will continue in another storyline pack, which will include the Deadlands. To those unfamiliar, the Deadlands is the home realm to Mehrunes Dagon.
“In the Gates of Oblivion adventure, you can explore a new storyline told throughout all of ESO’s 2021 content releases, including the upcoming The Elder Scrolls Online: Flames of Ambition DLC and The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood Chapter,” says the announcement.
“In this year-long saga, you will unravel the ambitions and schemes of the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon 800 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.”
The Elder Scrolls Online DLC Blackwood Storyline is now available for pre-order. Bethesda is offering several incentives to pre-ordering, including limited edition mounts and pets.
