Newegg, a California-based electronics shop, will soon accept Shiba Inu payments. An earlier tweet from Shiba Inu project lead Shytoshi Kusama hinted at the announcement, which was confirmed by a Newegg tweet.
Since starting its operation in 2011, BitPay has claimed that they have not received a single chargeback request for a bitcoin payment.
A precursor to what’s to come?
SHIB jumped 20% for a short time after an initial tweet announcing Newegg’s quest for a new pup in May 2021, before settling at $0.000043.
Newegg began accepting LTC via BitPay towards the end of July 2021. Bitpay’s commercial relationships with the European Mint, Ace Jewellers, and Jomashop resulted in bitcoin discounts over the Black Friday weekend of 2021.
Coingate has announced 500 new merchants. Regal Cinemas has just implemented the Flexa Software Development Kit in order to accept bitcoin payments.
Sonny Singh, the Chief Commercial Officer of BitPay, stated in the first half of 2021 that retail investors’ interest in altcoins was increasing.
Around 95% of crypto payments were made in bitcoin four years ago, but by late April 2021, that number had decreased to 50%, and DOGE was on the rise.
The retail exploits of Bitpay
Bitpay also provides a browser extension that allows you to buy crypto on Amazon. SHIB is now accepted at AMC Theatres, thanks to a recent partnership with Bitpay.
Bitpay offers a debit card that can be used to make purchases, and it uses funds from a crypto wallet rather than a bank account to do it.
Bitpay integrates with a variety of wallets, including Coinbase, Trust, and Kraken.
Bitpay has made a big influence in the crypto payment space, and as of earlier this year, when it announced its alliance with Universal Air Travel Plan, it had processed over $5 billion in blockchain transactions since 2011.
It has also worked with other travel companies, including Kessler Hotels and Travala, which takes up to 30 different types of tokens.
