The Crown was extended
Meanwhile, The Crown was originally planned to end with five seasons. Show creator Peter Morgan announced in January that they would wrap up Queen Elizabeth’s story in the fifth installment, but it was extended.
The show is now set to conclude in season 6, and Elizabeth Debicki will be in this finale. Morgan explained they had to add one more season after realizing they needed more time to finish the story of the British monarchy.
“As we started to discuss the storylines for series five, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons,” Netflix tweeted Peter Morgan’s statement.
