Ellen DeGeneres was recently called a phony after she apologized to the former staff of Ellen Show.
While speaking with Daily Mail, an insider claimed that the host’s apology wasn’t sincere. Ellen DeGeneres was further criticized for, reportedly, continuing to host Ellen Show for the money.
“Don’t think for a minute anything she has said in that apology means anything. She created and then enabled this toxic culture to go on for so long. If anyone had come to her or those three vile [executive producers] to complain, they would’ve been fired. Inside Telepictures we’ve had enough of her. She is a phony who does not practice what she preaches,” the source said.
Ellen DeGeneres is aware of the toxic work culture on ‘Ellen Show’
The source also said that it’s appalling how DeGeneres is pretending not to know what’s been happening on the set of Ellen Show.
According to the insider from DeGeneres’ production company, Telepictures, the comedian, reportedly, hates coming to work. And it has always been difficult for her to be nice to her staff.
“She has been phoning it in for so long, and only staying for the money and celebrity it affords her. We’ve dealt with her BS for so many years, she’s not innocent at all, she’s not nice and the show is not filled with happiness,” the source said.
Will Ellen DeGeneres quit ‘Ellen Show’?
Following the recent criticisms, there are claims that Ellen DeGeneres could be quitting the Ellen Show. The source said that the comedian leaving may be the only way to salvage the program.
“At this point, there’s really no way to save the show from this PR nightmare, so Ellen leaving may be the only way for this entire mess to go away. While it is our most profitable show in the daytime, we no longer make the money we used to make from the show, as we have to pay her tens of millions of dollars per year to show up,” the source said.
‘Ellen Show’ could reportedly be replaced
Telepictures would have to immediately come up with a replacement for Ellen Show if the program will be canceled. James Corden could, reportedly, replace DeGeneres if she decides to quit.
DeGeneres’ recent apology is the only statement she has released amid the criticisms. Portia de Rossi’s wife hasn’t responded to claims that she’s a mean girl.
The New York Post is speculating on what it means for Ellen DeGeneres not to receive support from her closest friends in the industry. Jennifer Aniston and the Kardashian family haven’t come to her defense.
