Ellen DeGeneres apologized, disappointed after learning about the employees' complaints

Ellen DeGeneres was not aware that her staff was already unhappy with the workplace on her show. She apologized to them and promised to bring the changes they deserve.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show was put under internal investigation after several employees complained about its “toxic” workplace. The award-winning host has broken her silence and penned a letter addressed to her staff.

Ellen DeGeneres addressed the employees’ complaints

Ellen DeGeneres addressed the workplace allegations on her show. She penned a letter and addressed her staff directly.

“Hey everybody — it’s Ellen. On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness — no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect,” she wrote in a letter obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

“Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show.”

The host acknowledged her staff

Ellen DeGeneres went on and acknowledged the contributions of her staff to her success. According to her, she wouldn’t be where she is without them.

She admitted that she couldn’t stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their job as expected. But, not everyone did, and she promised to change that.

“Clearly some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again,” DeGeneres added.

Ellen DeGeneres added that she felt awful after learning some felt disregarded, and others thought they were treated unfairly. The host said she wanted to give them a safe workplace where they could speak up and feel safe.

“I am so proud of the work we do and the fun and joy we all help put out in the world. I want everyone at home to love our show and I want everyone who makes it to love working on it. Again, I’m so sorry to anyone who didn’t have that experience. If not for COVID, I’d have done this in person, and I can’t wait to be back on our stage and see you all then,” DeGeneres concluded.

Ellen grateful to Portia

Ellen DeGeneres has a circle of A-list friends, but none spoke in her defense amid the string of controversies she faces recently. However, her wife, Portia de Rossi, remains by her side.

According to an insider, Ellen is very happy and grateful to Portia for staying.
