Ellen DeGeneres dark pas: Sex abuse, cancer scare and more

Ellen DeGeneres allegedly had a dark past concerning her health, family, and dating history.

Ellen DeGeneres is one of the most popular celebrities today due to her show. However, in the past months, she has been plagued with intense backlash for being mean despite promoting kindness on her show.

Radar Online published a report detailing DeGeneres’ dark past.

Ellen DeGeneres was sexually abused

According to the outlet, Ellen DeGeneres was sexually assaulted by her mother’s husband. The host opened up about it in an episode of David Letterman’s Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.

DeGeneres said the abuse began when she was just a teenager. Her mother, Betty DeGeneres, married someone she described as a “very bad man.”

“My mother’s husband said he felt a lump in her other breast. But he didn’t want to alarm her so he needed to feel mine so he could compare,” DeGeneres recalled in 2015.

“A few weeks later, he tried to do it again, and I kept saying, ‘No! You can’t keep doing this!’ One night he tried to break down the door to my bedroom… I had to kick a window out and escape. I felt like an idiot because I should have known better.”

Ellen faces a health scare

Ellen DeGeneres’ mom, Betty, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Due to the incident, Ellen allegedly feared the same illness would cut her life short.

She reportedly went into an emotional tailspin several years ago after she detected a lump in one of her breasts.

“Ellen lives in fear of being hit with a breast cancer diagnosis,” a source told The National Enquirer in 2014.

“With her family history, her age and stress level, she thinks the cards are stacked against her.”

DeGeneres’ lump was benign, so it wasn’t a serious cause of concern for her.

Ellen’s gay admission and first love

Ellen DeGeneres received intense criticisms after she admitted that she was gay. ABC put a parental advisory warning on her self-titled sitcom. It didn’t take long for the network to cancel the show.

Before DeGeneres publicly admitted her sexual preference to the public, she was already dating Kat Perkoff. The latter managed a bar and was allegedly a “notorious drug trafficker.”

On June 26, 1980, they had a falling out at a concert. Perkoff left alone, and her Mercedes hit a tree and was split into two. She died from the accident. However, her family and even a local official believed that she was murdered by the Mafia.

At present, Ellen DeGeneres is happily married to Portia de Rossi. The daytime talk show host is very grateful to Portia for staying despite the controversies plaguing her.
