Ellen DeGeneres made headlines this week amid claims that she has died.
On Twitter, the hashtag #RIPEllen became trending after internet trolls spread a death hoax surrounding Ellen DeGeneres.
The ‘Ellen Show’ won’t get canceled
According to the New York Post, DeGeneres’ critics spread the false claims amid rumors that the Ellen Show will be canceled. Just days ago, it was announced that the ratings for the daytime talk show dropped considerably amid the coronavirus pandemic.
It is unclear why the ratings for the Ellen Show plummeted, but DeGeneres’ critics think that it might have something to do with the allegations that the comedian is a mean girl.
Ellen DeGeneres earns ‘mean girl’ reputation
Fellow comedian Kevin T. Porter encouraged his followers to expose an alleged side of DeGeneres that not a lot of people know of. Several people shared their shocking experiences with the host. However, none of the stories were confirmed or denied by DeGeneres.
Shortly after the hashtag #RIPEllen became trending, some Twitter users made fun of DeGeneres by posting fake obituaries. The photos also featured DeGeneres’ lookalikes in the industry.
As of late, Portia de Rossi’s wife hasn’t also responded to the rumors that she passed away. But Ellen DeGeneres has been active on her social media account, which confirms that she hasn’t died.
On Wednesday, she uploaded a teaser from the new episode of Design Duo. DeGeneres also reminded the residents of Delaware and New Jersey about the primary elections on Tuesday.
Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi rumors
DeGeneres has been at the center of several other rumors in recent months. Some tabloids have been claiming that she and de Rossi are on the brink of a divorce.
Earlier this year, Globe claimed that DeGeneres and de Rossi are in a better state in their marriage. A year ago, the couple had, allegedly, been fighting nonstop.
“They let things slide at various stages, which really pushed them to the brink on a few occasions. But now they’ve made a firm decision to just let go of the bad vibes. No more jealousy and bickering and instead, more date nights and weekend retreats, just the two of them. They’ve made a pact to sleep in the same house, in the same bed, and stop living such separate lives. They really do care about each other, more than they even realized and they’re trying hard to put more back into their marriage,” the unnamed source said.
However, one should take the claims made by the tabloid with a grain of salt. Ellen DeGeneres and de Rossi are doing fine in their marriage.
