Ellen DeGeneres finally responds to one of the many allegations against her behavior on the set of Ellen Show.
Last month, former Today show producer Neil Breen shared his experiences working with Ellen DeGeneres in Australia. He said that the producers asked him not to make eye contact with the comedian if he sees her backstage.
A former camera assistant also claimed that she other staff members were asked to leave the room the minute DeGeneres arrives. After all, they weren’t allowed to be in the same room as the funny woman.
Ellen DeGeneres urges staff to look at her, talk to her
But during a conference call, DeGeneres, reportedly, brought up the rumors and called them “insane.”
“I don’t know where it started. Please talk to me. Look me in the eye… It’s crazy, just not true, I don’t know how it started. [It’s] not who I am,” she reportedly said.
Portia de Rossi’s wife also, reportedly, became a tad bit emotional during the conference call. And she took it as an opportunity to apologize to those she might have hurt.
According to Cinema Blend, DeGeneres revealed that she’s quite an introvert. But she also vowed to interact more with her staff.
Ellen DeGeneres didn’t respond to ‘mean girl’ allegations
However, Ellen DeGeneres has not yet responded to the other allegations against her. In March, there were claims that she’s a mean girl.
Comedian Kevin T. Porter was one of the first people to expose DeGeneres this year.
“She’s also notoriously one of the meanest people alive,” he tweeted.
Porter also encouraged other people to share their negative stories about DeGeneres. And he vowed to donate $2 for every story.
However, the comedian acknowledged that it was hard to determine which story was accurate and which ones were not. But he still donated $600 to the Los Angeles Food Bank.
Kathy Griffin slams comedian
Years ago, Kathy Griffin also accused DeGeneres of being mean to her. During Griffin’s interview with Access Hollywood, she revealed that she once confronted the comedian about her behavior.
“‘Ellen, this is my experience with you,’ I said. ‘You’ve been mean to me. I’m not saying you’re a mean person across the board, but you can’t, like, take my story away. It’s, like, my experience,” she said.

Last month, BuzzFeed News interviewed ten former Ellen Show employees. They revealed that there’s a toxic work environment on the set of the TV show.
Even though they didn’t directly blame Ellen DeGeneres, they said that she should’ve been more involved with the production.
