Ellen DeGeneres recently got called out for her overpriced furniture and home products at Wayfair.
In 2015, the ED Ellen DeGeneres collection with Wayfair was launched. The partnership was a joint venture between the comedian and Christopher Burch, the CEO of Burch Creative Capital.
While DeGeneres’ pricey furniture and home products have been on sale on Wayfair’s website for years, it was only recently that critics slammed her for it.
Ellen DeGeneres linked to Wayfair conspiracy theory
There is an ongoing conspiracy theory against Wayfair. The company is accused of acting as a front for human trafficking by selling expensive cabinets named after people.
DeGeneres’ critics then started questioning whether she has any involvement with the alleged child trafficking conspiracy theory.
Some of the funny woman’s pillows are priced at over $10,000 and it mentions a child’s name. But according to Fox Business News, a search of the same product without the child’s name on the Wayfair website showed that the pillow is just $99.
Wayfair accused of selling overpriced products
Last week, Reddit users posted screenshots of the overpriced items sold on Wayfair. The products include cabinets and armoires priced between $12,699.99 to $14,499.99. The said products are labeled with names such as Neriah, Yaritza, Samiya, and Alyvia.
Reddit users claimed that the names could belong to missing children. However, a spokesperson for Wayfair denied the allegations.
The company denies the allegations
“There is, of course, no truth to these claims. The products in question are industrial grade cabinets that are accurately priced,” Susan Frechette said.
Following the backlash, Wayfair removed the product images from their website and said that they will be renaming them.
Ellen DeGeneres dubbed as a mean girl
As of late, Ellen DeGeneres has not yet responded to another backlash that she’s facing. On Twitter, a slew of people are challenging the host of The Ellen Show to explain herself.
The past couple of months have been controversial for Portia de Rossi’s wife. She was slammed for, allegedly, being a mean girl in March.
Shortly after Kevin T. Porter urged other people to expose the dirt on DeGeneres, several individuals shared their shocking stories about the comedian.
One of them said that DeGeneres almost got her fired from her waitressing job. Another source claimed that DeGeneres doesn’t like talking to people with bad breath. A third source said that the funny woman is not as friendly and warm as she appears to be on television.
As of late, Ellen DeGeneres has stayed mum on all the mean girl criticisms.
