Ellen DeGeneres is not leaving her wife, Portia de Rossi, despite the latter’s alleged struggle with addiction, according to a tabloid.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been married for over a decade already. The two have faced various rumors over the years. One outlet even claimed that the Scandal star was struggling with addiction, and her wife was sticking with her.
Ellen DeGeneres is sticking with Portia de Rossi
In 2014, Radar Online published a report claiming that the two were making their marriage work despite Portia de Rossi’s addiction struggle.
“Ellen is very supportive of Portia and has no intentions of leaving her,” a source close to the daytime talk show host.
“Portia is her world,” the source continued. “Ellen is controlling of Portia … but she is always talking about how lucky she is to have such a beautiful wife.”
At the time, Portia and Ellen purchased a new love nest together in Beverly Hills. The insider added that the two “love working on a home together.”
Portia secretly checked into rehab
In July 2014, Daily Mail reported that Portia de Rossi was hit by claims that she secretly checked into rehab for drug and alcohol treatment. In Touch was the first to report that de Rossi entered Passages Malibu in early May after DeGeneres confronted her, which erupted into an ugly fight.
However, Daily Mail noted that days prior to the rehab reports, the couple appeared happy together. A photo taken by an Instagram user featured the two happily vacationing in Croatia.
At the time, Portia had reportedly already completed her treatment, and the two are “repairing their marriage.”
“They are on their way to repairing their marriage. It won’t be easy. Portia will always be battling these demons. But they love each other,” a source said.
Portia and Ellen not fighting
However, one should take those reports with a grain of salt. In an interview, Ellen DeGeneres said that she and her wife, Portia de Rossi, don’t fight. In contrast to reports that they were feuding, the couple had been living at peace.
“We really don’t almost break up,” DeGeneres told Howard Stern in 2015.
She also debunked the split rumors by saying, “We don’t fight. We are madly in love.”
“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” host also revealed how compatible they were. They think the same.
“We think the same things. We are so similar and yet we’re different enough,” DeGeneres added.
