Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi tightened their security at home following a burglary incident on July 4.
According to TMZ, the burglars used the couple’s back door to get into their house. Now, Ellen DeGeneres and de Rossi want to make sure that the same incident won’t happen again.
The couple, reportedly, hired a new security company to improve their security at home. Their laser sensors and the cameras in and around their house have also been upgraded.
DeGeneres and de Rossi’s patrol guards are also, reportedly, armed. And they will be making sure that no one could get the property without permission.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were at home during the burglary
DeGeneres and de Rossi’s mansion was burglarized, reportedly, because of the couple’s celebrity status.
“The accurate description of the items that were taken is not available for release, but they are described as high-value jewelry and watches,” the statement said.
An extensive investigation into the matter is still ongoing. And the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is in contact with other law enforcement agencies to determine if the recent burglary is related to other celebrity home burglaries of late.
Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi rumors
The recent burglary incident is the latest blow to hit Ellen DeGeneres and de Rossi. In recent months, there have been ongoing allegations that the comedian is mean, cold, and demeaning.
Several tabloids have also been claiming that de Rossi and DeGeneres are on the brink of a divorce. The couple is, allegedly, fighting over the comedian’s busy work schedule, her mood swings, her desire to have a baby, and her jealousy.
The comedian continues to stay mum amid criticisms
However, despite all the rumors and criticisms, DeGeneres continues to stay silent. But after 10 former employees on the Ellen Show claimed that there’s a toxic work environment on set, Warner Bros., reportedly, decided to conduct an investigation.
“[Telepictures and Warner Bros.] sent a memo to staffers last week, saying they have engaged WBTV-owner WarnerMedia’s employee relations group and a third-party firm, who will interview current and former staffers about their experiences on set,” a source told Variety.
‘Ellen Show’ toxic work environment
Last week, BuzzFeed News published a story about the alleged toxic work environment on Ellen Show. Some of the former employees said that there are racisms and microaggressions on set.
Other former employees are also questioning why Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t seem to be very much involved when it’s her name that appears on the talk show.
