Ellen DeGeneres was recently called out for seemingly putting all the blame on the producers of Ellen Show.
Ellen DeGeneres released a statement after former employees exposed the alleged toxic work environment on Ellen Show.
In her statement, DeGeneres vowed to stay on top of production. And she also apologized to the staff that didn’t have a pleasant experience working on her talk show.
Ellen DeGeneres slammed for blaming ‘Ellen Show’ producers
While speaking with Daily Mail, one staff member said that a lot of people felt that the comedian was putting the blame solely on the producers. However, DeGeneres also created and enabled the toxic work culture on Ellen Show.
“If anyone had come to her or those three vile EPs [executive producers] to complain, they would’ve been fired,” the staff member said.
Ellen DeGeneres allegedly quitting the ‘Ellen Show’
The source also said that DeGeneres would be quitting Ellen Show because she knows that she can’t go on like this.
Portia de Rossi’s wife is, reportedly, aware that the only way for her brand to recover is if she shuts down the show completely.
“The truth is she knew what was going on — it’s her show. The buck stops with her. She can blame every executive under the sun — but Ellen is ultimately the one to blame,” the source said.
Following the recent backlash, de Rossi stepped out in public to walk her dog sans DeGeneres. Daily Mail claimed that the funny woman is hiding away at her home amid the criticisms.
Will ‘Ellen Show’ be canceled?
There are also claims that if Ellen Show won’t be canceled, DeGeneres would at least be replaced as the host of the program.
According to The Sun, NBC Entertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy is eyeing James Corden as a possible replacement for DeGeneres. Telegdy is, reportedly, a huge fan of the British host.
“James Corden was being eyed for Ellen’s job in the long term before any of this came to light. This issue has fast-tracked everything and made everyone look at the future today. Now, this shocking new development places a spotlight on the next step,” the source said.
Other possible replacements include Kristen Bell, Chrissy Teigen, Kevin Hart, Neil Patrick Harris, Ellie Kemper, and Mario Lopez.
However, no concrete pieces of evidence can confirm that Ellen DeGeneres will quit Ellen Show or that she will be replaced as host.
