Ellen DeGeneres is allegedly quitting her talk show amid rumors claiming that James Corden is replacing her.
Ellen DeGeneres is at the center of various allegations from reports claiming she is mean to her show being subjected to an internal investigation. Due to this, the award-winning host is considering quitting her show, one source said.
Ellen DeGeneres controversy revisited
A few months back, comedian Kevin T. Porter started a thread on Twitter encouraging others to share their mean encounter with Ellen DeGeneres. Several individuals commented on the thread, sharing their horrible experiences with the host.
Many also revisited the way DeGeneres treated her guests. Many called DeGeneres out for insisting that Dakota Johnson didn’t invite her on the latter’s birthday. It turned out that DeGeneres missed the invitation. Some fans were also not happy when Taylor Swift almost cried during her guesting on the show.
Last week, WarnerMedia decided to subject DeGeneres’ show under investigation after several employees complained over its toxic workplace. Many said that they had a difficult time leaving work. According to them, when they file for leave, it’s like a battle between them and the supervisors.
Ellen DeGeneres quitting
Due to the string of controversies, the Grammy winner is reportedly affected, and she “wants out of the show.”
“She is pissed that people have come forward to share these negative stories about her and feels betrayed,” a source told Us Weekly.
“She knows she can be tough at times,” the insider added.”But believes she works hard and is extremely creative and that it’s a privilege to work for her and be around her.”
James Corden replacing Ellen
The news of Ellen DeGeneres quitting the show comes on the heels of reports claiming that James Corden will be replacing her.
An insider claimed that NBC is considering the Late Late Show host to fill DeGeneres’ position.
“This issue has fast tracked everything and made everyone look at the future today. James Corden was being eyed for Ellen’s job in the long term before any of this came to light,” an unnamed source said.
“Now this shocking new development places a spotlight on the next step. James and his team have been trailblazers in modern TV, taking the once considered graveyard chat show slot into a cutting edge format with huge online, social media and global recognition. In five years he went from unknown to A-list star and creative.”
However, the replacement report is still a rumor and is unlikely true.
First, Ellen DeGeneres apologized to her staff and promised change, which means that she is not leaving them.
Second, one of the show’s executive producers said, “nobody is going off the air.”
