Ellen DeGeneres recently revealed that her dog, Kid, got into an accident.
During Tuesday’s episode of Ellen Show, Ellen DeGeneres said that Kid injured himself following an accident involving her other dog, Wally.
“Okay, so here’s the deal. We have pets. You know we have pets. And we have dogs that run around like crazy. And there’s a lot of pet traffic when that happens. Sooner or later, there’s bound to be an accident. Over the weekend, our dog Wally, who is, she’s a little over a year, and so she’s a puppy, so she’s got a lot of energy, and she was running full-speed across the lawn. Our dog Kid happened to be in the way, and she just trampled over Kid,” she said.
Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi’s dog will wear a cast for 12 weeks
DeGeneres made light of the situation by calling the accident illegal because the speed limit is 25, and there’s a “kid” nearby.
The comedian then revealed that she and wife Portia de Rossi heard Kid screaming in pain. So, they immediately knew that something was broken.
“It was awful, awful, awful. Kid has to wear that cast for 12 weeks, which is like 84 weeks my time,” she said.
Ellen DeGeneres addresses toxic work environment claims on Ellen Show
On Monday, Ellen DeGeneres addressed the toxic work environment claims that plagued her and Ellen Show last summer.
“I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously, and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected,” she said.
But despite the funny woman’s attempts to clear the air, some former Ellen Show employees still didn’t like her approach.
Former Ellen Show employees, Twitter users slam Ellen
One of them told BuzzFeed News that DeGeneres turned her trauma into a joke and she also made the issue about her.
“When she said, ‘Oh, my summer was great’ and that was supposed to be funny I thought, ‘It’s funny that you had a rough summer because everyone was calling out all of the allegations of your toxic work environment and now, you’re the one suffering?” another former employee said.
On Twitter, a slew of people also slammed DeGeneres for making light of a very serious issue.
“Ellen using her first monologue back after allegations of a toxic work environment to make jokes about how she’s impatient and not a good enough actress to fake being a nice person for 18 years just grosses me out,” Twitter user @abb3rz07 said.
“Ellen DeGeneres really said: ‘I’m sorry for abusing my workers omg I’m so sorry that I’m a rich privileged white woman,'” Twitter user @jojosuniverse wrote.
