More and more celebrities are coming forward to defend Ellen DeGeneres amid claims of a toxic work environment on Ellen Show.
This week, Portia de Rossi was first to say that she’s standing by Ellen DeGeneres. Katy Perry echoed the Scandal star by sharing her positive experiences while guesting on Ellen Show.
Ashton Kutcher also came to the comedian’s defense. However, the actor’s claims that DeGeneres never pandered to a celebrity drew flak from his critics.
Vance DeGeneres lashes out at his sister’s critics
DeGeneres’ older brother, Vance DeGeneres, lashed out at those who are viciously attacking his sister. On his Twitter account, Vance also said that the funny woman wouldn’t knowingly allow bullying or racism in her program.
“She has been and continues to be a bright light in a dark world. She’s one of the kindest, most generous people you’ll ever meet. And one of the funniest,” he tweeted.
Vance also used his Facebook account to say that all the allegations surrounding DeGeneres are untrue.
“I put up a simple statement yesterday that said ‘I stand by Ellen.’ Only a handful of my Facebook’ friends’ responded to it. If you don’t support Ellen, then you don’t support me, so please unfriend me.’ I’m sick and tired of my sister being attacked. She always has – and always will – stand against bullying of any kind. She’s a smart, strong woman who has made a positive difference in the world. And to my friends who did respond with support for Ellen and my family, thank you so much. It means a lot,” he wrote.
Diane Keaton praises Ellen DeGeneres for giving back
Diane Keaton also posted a photo of herself during her appearance on Ellen Show. On her Instagram account, the actress said that she always enjoyed her guesting on the program.
“I’ve seen how the audiences exude happiness and gratitude. She gives back to so many including me,” she wrote.
Jay Leno doesn’t believe in hearsays about his friend
Late-night TV legend Jay Leno is also standing by Ellen DeGeneres. He said that he wouldn’t discard her 40-year friendship with his fellow comedian based on hearsay.
“The Ellen I know has raised over 125 million dollars for charity and has always been a kind and decent person. I fully support her,” Leno tweeted.
Rachel Bloom reacts to Ellen DeGeneres controversies
Actress Rachel Bloom also shared her thoughts on the controversies surrounding DeGeneres.
She said that having a wonderful time as a guest on Ellen Show doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the experiences of the employees. Bloom has worked behind the scenes and in front of the cameras.
Ellen DeGeneres has not yet responded publicly to her friends who have given her their support.
