Ellen DeGeneres will interview lesser-known celebrities when ‘Ellen Show’ returns rumor debunked

Ellen DeGeneres will soon host Ellen Show when it premieres later this month.

Ahead of the show’s premiere date, National Enquirer claimed that there would be changes to the hit talk show. A source claimed that Ellen DeGeneres wants to interview lesser-known celebrities in the program.

“Ellen wants to make the program more diverse and give lesser-known celebrities exposure. The show will have more regular guests – ordinary people doing extraordinary things, especially in communities of color. Guests will no longer be encouraged to flatter Ellen’s ego. They can be much more natural,” the source said.

Ellen DeGeneres excited to return to Ellen Show

Last week, DeGeneres expressed her excitement over her upcoming return to Ellen Show. The comedian also said that she would be talking about the recent controversies attached to the program.

In the summer, a slew of former Ellen Show employees revealed that there’s a toxic work environment on the show. They also accused some of the producers of bullying, racism, and harassment.

Ellen Show September guests confirmed

DeGeneres issued an apology after that. But the first time that she will be addressing the controversy, on-air will be when Ellen Show premieres in the coming days.

Deadline also unveiled the show’s line-up for the premiere week, which includes Tiffany Haddish, Kerry Washington, Alec Baldwin, and Chrissy Teigen. Other celebrity guests that will be appearing this month include Orlando Bloom, Amy Schumer, Chris Rock, and Adam Sandler.

DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss will also serve as guest host this season. The Ellen Show DJ will, reportedly, be promoted as co-executive producer following the firing of three producers of Ellen Show.

The guest line-up proves that the tabloid’s claims above are incorrect. While it is true that DeGeneres will continue to interview non-celebrity or lesser-known celebrities on her show, there is no confirmation that A-listers won’t make it to her program.

Ellen DeGeneres awkward interviews

In the previous seasons, DeGeneres has already interviewed a slew of A-listers and non-celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Emma Stone, Mariah Carey, Feng E, Lil’ Mushroom, and more.

Just recently, some of the funny woman’s interviews were called awkward.

For instance, DeGeneres forced Carey to confirm her pregnancy during her guesting on Ellen Show in 2008. The host also urged Stone and Andrew Garfield to confirm their relationship in 2014.

Ellen DeGeneres reportedly bullied a female Chinese translator on Ellen Show when she made fun of her.
