Ellen DeGeneres will return to the Ellen Show next month amid the ongoing controversies surrounding her and the talk show.
The New York Post obtained an internal email from the executive producers of Ellen Show after former employees claimed that there’s a toxic work culture on set. In the email, the EPs confirmed that Ellen DeGeneres would return to work in September.
An insider at the Ellen Show also revealed that DeGeneres is doing everything she can to protect the program and what she stands for.
“She is very upset about what happened and determined to fix the problems. She takes full responsibility. But no way is she quitting the show. That’s total [expletive],” the source said.
‘Ellen Show’ employees come forward
Last month, 10 former employees on the Ellen Show slammed the executive producers and senior staff for their unfair treatment of their employees. Some of the former employees also claimed that there were racism and sexual harassment on set.
Shortly after, DeGeneres apologized to her former employees in a statement.
“On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect. Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show,” Ellen DeGeneres said.
Ellen DeGeneres criticized by celebrities
As of late, a lot of people have come forward to criticize Portia de Rossi’s wife. But not a lot has defended DeGeneres amid the criticisms.
Comedian Kevin T. Porter was one of the first to call DeGeneres a mean girl. Most recently, Lea Thompson echoed Brad Garrett’s claims of mistreatment by DeGeneres is common knowledge.
Weeks ago, YouTube star Nikkie Tutorials and Bachelor alum Corrine Olympios also shared their bad experiences while guesting on Ellen Show.
Ellen DeGeneres friends haven’t defended her
The New York Post said that Scooter Braun is the only celebrity in DeGeneres’ corner right now. The funny woman’s closest friends, Jennifer Aniston, Kris Jenner, and the Kardashian family have not come to the comedian’s defense.
A source told the publication that everyone’s scared of the liberal mob.
“They found something with Ellen DeGeneres they could latch onto and that drove even more of a pile-on. No one wants to be next,” the source said.
