Elton John became one of the many people JoJo Siwa inspired after coming out.
Over the weekend, JoJo Siwa told her followers that she received a message from Elton John. The 74-year-old performer recorded the video and sent it to Siwa as part of the Pride event.
In the beginning, John praised Siwa and congratulated her for finally showing her true self to the world.
He added that he feels really happy to welcome her into the beautiful and respectful community.
“At 17, you were able to do something that took people of my generation decades to do. Not only are you living your truth, you’re a shining example to young people the world over and their families, by showing that love is love and people are people and that is that,” he added on the video message.

John grabbed the opportunity to commend Siwa’s colorful style. In the end, he asked her to continue being herself before greeting her with a Happy Pride.
As she saw what happened as something unbelievable, the young singer exclaimed how grateful she is to become the recipient.
“This is unreal! thank you so much Elton for this message. I’ve looked up to Elton for YEARS…. to get this message from him made my life. Thank you so much for being the sweetest and most inspiring person ever,” she captioned the post.
JoJo Siwa and her story of coming out
In January, Siwa welcomed the new year with a bang by coming out as a member of the LGBTQ community.
Through an Instagram Live, the TIME 100 honoree admitted that she also has a girlfriend, Kylie Prew. They made their relationship official on their first month together.
At the same time, Siwa credited her for helping her to come out.
As for her exact identity, she revealed to People that she currently does not know what she is. Still, she said she likes queer, and she may be a pansexual.
“And I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I’m Ky-sexual. But like, I don’t know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight. I always just say gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool,” she went on.
Siwa began her career as one of the top 5 finalists of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition Season 2. She also became the show’s youngest contestant ever. Unfortunately, she failed to bring home the crown after being eliminated in week 9.
