Elton John is not holding back after discovering DaBaby’s controversial remarks about the LGBTQ community.
Elton John refused to stay silent and shared a thread on his social media account to condemn DaBaby. Per the legendary musician, the rapper failed his job to spread positivity through music.
On his Twitter account, Elton said he was shocked after reading HIV misinformation and homophobic comments the rapper made during a recent concert.
The 29-year-old rapper let out insensitive comments about gay men who have been infected with HIV at the Rolling Loud Miami festival.
The 74-year-old singer announced he was bisexual in 1976 and gay since 1988. As a member of the LGBTQ community, he stood up with the members and slammed the rapper continuously.
Elton particularly highlighted that DaBaby’s statements fuel stigma and discrimination. He took his chance to change everyone’s perspective by saying an inspiring message about musicians’ jobs.
“HIV misinformation and homophobia have no place in the music industry. We must break down the stigma around HIV and not spread it,” he said in the image from Elton John Aids Foundation. “As musicians, it is our job to bring people together.”
He added the most important facts about HIV in the next set of tweets. Elton mentioned that over 70 million people have been affected by the disease, and it knows no gender, especially in the most vulnerable communities.
He also told his followers that they all need to work together to break down the myths and buzzes surrounding the topic.
Elton John says truth
Elton also debunked the claims that HIV patients can only live for a short time. He noted that, with the advanced technology, a patient can only take a pill a day so they cannot pass it onto other people.
The singer concluded his post by reminding everyone that a musician’s job is “to bring people together.”
DaBaby already said his sorry following the artists and people’s messages against his statements. However, he initially refused to apologize and make offensive comments on his Instagram Live.
The rapper let out more insensitive words and even compared HIV patients to his gay fans that are “not nasty or junkies on the street.”
Despite his recent apology, people still slammed him and even threatened to end his career because of his reckless actions.
