Emily in Paris season 2 is still seeking the go signal from Netflix, despite season one’s popularity. Moreover, showrunner Darren Star is very much enthusiastic about working on the second season.
The series is one of the anticipated shows because of its ties with the showrunner, Darren Star. Star created the very popular, Sex in the City, which is very much similar to Emily in Paris in terms of its plot. Even so, the series belongs to the top 10 shows on Netflix just days from its release. Because of its light storyline, fans are hoping for more of Emily in Paris season 2.

Just like other popular series, it usually takes a month before Netflix gives it the green light. The streaming platform needs to review the ratings before it decides to renew a series. In the case of Emily in Paris, it’s popularity will certainly hit the go signal.
Season 2 plot details
After a cliffhanger ending in season 1, there’s more to tell about the life of Emily, the Parisian city, and her budding relationship with the young chef, Gabriel. Towards the end, Gabriel and Camille broke up, giving Emily the chance to finally say her feelings for him before he goes back to Normandy.

However, the rich Antoine gives Gabriel an option to start his restaurant in Paris. This will certainly put pressure on Emily on how to deal with Camille and her feelings for Gabriel.
Darren Star shares some insights on season 2. He said:
“In season 2, she’s [Emily] going to be more of a part of the fabric of the world she’s living in. She’ll be more of a resident of the city. She’ll have her feet on the ground a little more. She’s making a life there.”
“Emily in Paris” season 2 release date
If Netflix decides to renew the series, fans might have to wait for a significant amount of time before it lands on the streaming service. The global pandemic is creating a problem with the productions. Thus, filming might begin in Summer 2021.
