Emily in Paris star Lily Collins has been engaging fans on social media about her new Netflix show, which is awaiting a season 2 renewal.
In her most recent post on Twitter, Collins acknowledged and apologized after she made a mistake about the age of her titular character in Emily in Paris. Fans have been debating over Emily’s age, and the actress initially thought that she is about 22.
This huge interest and passion among the viewers have pushed TV rom-com as the most-watched program within the two weeks of its launch on Netflix. Like the viewers, Collins also wants the streaming platform to pick up the show for another season.
Speaking with Vanity Fair, Collins said that she would love nothing more than to return to Paris and work on the show again.
“There were so many situations that we were like, ‘Okay, write that down. That’s going to happen in season two,” the actress said.

What’s going to happen to Emily in season 2?
Creator Darren Star has been teasing some of these ideas for Emily in Paris season 2. In a separate Vanity Fair interview, Star said that he’d like to explore the supporting characters, such as Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, as Sylvie, Emily’s boss. The showrunner said that they’ve only started scratching the surface of Sylvie’s many layers.
However, the actual story that intrigues viewers is the drama among Emily, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Cami (Camille Razat). Speaking with TV Line, Star said that there will be more drama involved in this love triangle in the upcoming season.
“[This] is such a fun thing to explore in Season 2, because [Gabriel and Cami] are not Americans. They’re French people,” Star said. “A big part of the show is looking at everything through a different lens. Season 2 will open up some interesting and surprising relationship avenues.”
Star also teased that Emily will be more acclimated to Paris as a resident. She’s slowly building her life and setting her roots in the city.
Pandemic delays and other logistical problems
There’s one obvious reason the show hasn’t received a renewal from Netflix yet.
Emily in Paris is filmed on location and it’s risky for the cast and crew to start work in one of the most bustling cities in the world due to the pandemic. It took the first season at least 14 to 16 months for production, with most of it taking place abroad. This might not be a good investment for Netflix for now.
Meanwhile, Emily in Paris season 1 continues to stream on Netflix.
