The Mandalorian‘s third season will begin principal shooting any day now, and the show’s second season is already winning awards at the Emmys this year.
The Creative Arts section of television’s premier awards extravaganza took place Saturday night, ahead of the Primetime Emmys event on September 19th.
The Lucasfilm show won three prizes at the crew-oriented event, focusing on people behind the camera.
The Mandalorian is reaping what it sowed
Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup took up the night’s first award, followed by Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series (Half-Hour) and Outstanding Sound Mixing For a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour).
WandaVision also took home two Emmys, one for production design and the other for Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, making it a big night for Disney+.
Season 3 of The Mandalorian is set to premiere on Disney+ in the second half of 2022. Mandalorian stuntman Brendan Wayne claims that the next set of episodes will be closer to the first season’s episodes than the second batch, which aired in 2020.

Here is Wayne’s secret!
On a recent edition of the Star Wars Sessions podcast, Wayne revealed his secret. “I believe we’ve established the world in which Mando currently lives. Not that there won’t be new stuff… I’m sure there will… I believe there will be fewer introductions and a greater return to the first season in terms of digging deeper into the characters and such.”
He went on, “Have I ever read a script? No. Have I overheard anything? Sure. So I’m speculating. But there is one thing I can tell you. Jon [Favreau] is the only person who can keep telling a tale going. And what about increasing the stakes? It’s Jon calling.”
The Book of Boba Fett is set to premiere on Disney+ in December 2021. Season 3 of The Mandalorian has yet to be announced. If you haven’t already joined up for Disney+, you may do so here.
