Final Fantasy 16 is still away from its debut, but the constant development updates have kept the hype going despite no official news.
And according to newly shared information, it seems that the English voice recording on Final Fantasy 16 started first. At the same time, the Japanese version is still underway.
‘Final Fantasy 16’ details so far
Yoshi-P talked very briefly about FF16 in today’s “Washa ga na TV Collab” livestream:
-English recording came first
-English voice acting was done with full facial motion capture for almost each scene
-English recording is the furthest, Japanese voice recording is getting there. pic.twitter.com/BzghAMobCk— ☆オードリーAudrey☆ (@aitaikimochi) July 25, 2021
Recently, Yoshi-P posted a tweet on Twitter, which was related to FF16.
In the tweet, Yoshi-P talked about the development status of the next big Final Fantasy entry.
The tweet mentioned that English voice recording began first on Final Fantasy 16. And it involved full motion capture for almost every single scene.
On the other hand, the Japanese version is still moving ahead with constant progress.
All of this is quite interesting to notice since FF16 is a Japanese title. And technically, the Japanese voice recording should have started first.
This information also explains why the initial trailer was in English instead of the base language.
Simply put, this news implies that the next installment will be huge in its overall structure. And also, the English version is set to be the base version when the game eventually comes out.
It’s also because the next entry takes a lot of Western influence compared to its predecessors.

What to expect from the story?
When it comes to the storyline and overall plot, then as of now, there’s no exact detail available on it.
When the dev team shared a demo trailer three years ago, two female characters went against each other. There was an idea of yin and yang depicted with a protagonist and the antagonist in simple terms.
That concept trailer had a woman who was half android and half-human in her appearance. The visuals of the clip were great while showing both the two main characters.
However, the developers changed their minds later, as the official trailer featured a male hero.
Still, it doesn’t mean that there will be just one gender available for the fans. Maybe there’s a big surprise awaiting the players hoping for multiple choices when choosing the protagonist.
Also, it’s been a long time since a Final Fantasy title had a central female character.
So if all goes well, Square Enix might surprise everyone upon the launch of the next awaited installment.
It will be interesting to see how the ultimate Final Fantasy 16 turns out to be upon its completion.
