The Epic Games Store continues on its promise of giving off free games, especially for the Holiday season. And this week’s latest freebie includes not just one, not two, but three Tomb Raider titles.
If this does still come off as somewhat of news, then you probably missed an earlier leak that suggested the release of the trio titles. A few days ago, Redditor Born-Ad2043 shared a snapshot highlighting a list of titles from the Epic Games Store. Free giveaways that were either already released or are releasing throughout December 2021 from the digital storefront.
As predicted
Conspicuously, the interest lies in the upcoming titles which accurately predicted the Crystal Dynamics-developed IPs. More specifically, Tomb Raider GOTY, Rise of Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, and Shadow of Tomb Raider Definitive Edition. Effectively, the bundled gifts conclude the platform’s annual tradition of rolling out the free mystery promotion for 2021. Which, looking in hindsight, is an event when Epic is more generous than its other weekly handouts for the AAA title freebies. This year’s free mystery promotion is as special as the previous, however, as players get popular titles like Mutant Year Zero, Prey, Control, among others.
Looking into the Tomb Raider titles and one can gather how extra special this week’s offering is. Not only are these games a full version each, they also come packed with all the contents released on them, so far. For instance, Rise of the Tomb Raider contains all the Season Pass content, Blood Ties and Lara’s Nightmare, where players get to defend the Croft Manor from Zombies.
A week of bounty
For something so valuable, it comes as no surprise that many are flocking their way towards claiming the games for free. Equally unsurprising also is how the surge of interest is causing a lot of strain on Epic Games Store’s servers. Consequently, raising concerns regarding people who are having trouble accessing the site. Although that might be concerning, everyone can rest assured that they can still get the games another time. Specifically, they have a full week of wait, or until January 6, 2022, before another title takes the spotlight as a free-to-claim title.
Speaking of which, Epic Games Store already revealed next week’s free game with Gods Will Fall. Once released, it will mark the platform’s initial charge-free offering, kickstarting another series of weekly and occasional presents. Gods Will Fall is a game where players play as warriors hell-bent on freeing humanity from the clutches of the gods.
