Kalush Orchestra, the winners in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, are auctioning a Eurovision Glass Microphone Trophy NFT to support Ukraine.
The song contest happened in Turin, Italy, on May 14. The event received 161 million viewers in 34 measured markets and 18 million online on TikTok and YouTube.
NFT to support Ukraine
The buyer who purchases NFT with a cryptocurrency gets a 100% unique digital file with a microphone and also Kalush Orchestra. They can also get a chance to meet and have dinner with Kalush Orchestra members.
If the bid is greater than the fiat cash bid, then the winner will get the Crystal Microphone.
The proceeds will go directly to the CO Charitable Foundation of Serhiy Prytula.
There were also a total of 40 countries that competed in the contest this year. And Russia was not one of them.
Kalush Orchestra’s Stefania, a Ukrainian song, won by a landslide. Meanwhile, it was believed that the people who voted for the song supported the music of the Kalush Orchestra and Ukraine’s struggle.
Crypto donations to Ukraine
In the last three months, the Ukrainians and the government have supported crypto and NFT donations that no one could have expected.
According to statistical data provider Crystal, Ukraine’s crypto donations were the largest in history. By May 12, 2022, the sum reached $82 million.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is the first European nation to attempt minting the “Crystal Microphone” NFT reward.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine sponsored the annual event’s auction.
