Taylor Swift has done it twice in 2020! The singer’s ninth studio release, Evermore, has become her second No. 1 album this year.
According to Deadline, Evermore just reached the No. 1 spot in the top albums chart of 2020. And Taylor Swift seems to be competing with herself only. The Folklore that arrived in July previously became number one just a few months ago.
It looks like the year belongs to Swift with other big moments like appearance in Cats movie. Her documentary Miss Americana also earned her a lot of praise.
“Evermore” album impressing the listeners
Talking about Evermore, it recently debuted on top of the Billboard 200 charts upon its release on Dec. 11th. This ninth album shocked many Taylor Swift fans who weren’t expecting another title after Folklore.
Even Billboard noticed it and revealed that the latest album generated nearly 329,000 units in the United States. These numbers are for the week ending Dec. 17th.
With the latest achievement, Swift also becomes the first woman to score two number-one albums on the Billboard 200 chart in 2020 because boy-band and South Korean sensation BTS are the other artists to register two number one albums. The Dynamite song group had Be and Map of the Soul: 7 in 2020, and both were highly admired.
Interestingly, YoungBoy Never Broke Again also had two No. 1 albums this year, with Top and 38 Baby 2.
Upcoming projects from Taylor Swift
Coming back to Swift, she’s expected to drop another project soon. However, no clear details are out yet. But it seems like the Blank Space hitmaker is in a music-making mood this year. And going with this kind of flow, it looks like she will soon announce another new album or a song.
All in all, it’s her fans and the music lovers who will get the most out of it because they love her songs madly whenever she comes with something new. Coming onto her recent change in the selection of genres, it appears she will keep it this way in the coming months. And it’s contrary to her past albums like 1989 and then Reputation. Compared to these two, both Folklore and Evermore have brought the old Taylor Swift that fans loved more since 2008.
Now, she happens to be concentrating more on a slow, calming, and house pop or alternative kind of idea. And it can be clearly understood by her current style of songwriting. However, her avid fans want back-to-back fresh music coming from her side, constantly. And the way she’s going right now is pointing towards another big reveal, sooner, in the new year.
