It should not be surprising that Ubisoft had a lot to show off when it comes to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The upcoming game was the highlight of the event, and we even got a release date for it.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will bring players back to the Viking age. The game has a lot to live up to considering the success of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, but it seems like Ubisoft knows what type of challenges lie ahead. Here’s every detail about the game revealed at the event.
Release date and platform availability
At the event, we officially get a release date for the anticipated title, which is on November 17. The game will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google Stadia at launch. Moreover, the game confirmed also to be coming to Xbox Series X and PS5 when both of those platforms arrive.
Gameplay features
New gameplay footage shows the female counterpart of Eivor. From the trailer, it feels like she’s more than just a gender option in the game as she feels different in terms of gameplay. Critics also feel the same way as everything from her romance options to the way she fights is different.
Speaking of romance options, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla builds upon the one found in the previous entry. This time players can engage in long-term relationships with many of the NPCs in the game. While in a long-term relationship, players can opt to find little side relationships as well.
The game shows off Raids and exploration via a boat that players can customize. Fans of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag might find these features very familiar as the game itself feels like a love letter to one of the best games in the series.
In terms of combat, the game will bring back more stealth elements in the game. As critics would put it, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla feels like a return to roots for the franchise, and this should delight fans.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla now feels like one of the biggest releases of the year. It seems like Ubisoft is yet to reveal everything about the game, and we’re excited to see what features there are still left to uncover. For now, fans can only hope that the series outdoes the bar set by previous entries.
