Composer of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series has revealed the Disney Plus series will deal with complex issues unseen in MCU movies.
According to Comicbook, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ series will tackle many complex issues unseen in MCU movies. In a recent media interaction, composer Henry Jackman spoke about the TV show. He discussed the tone of the series as well.
The series will see a new Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wielding the iconic shield.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: What to expect?
Speaking about the upcoming Disney Plus show, the composer said it would deal with Anthony Mackie’s character. And what it means for him to be an African-American hero in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
“And in this particular series, there’s the very much untrivial and serious issue, particularly now more than ever, about what it means to hold that shield and what kind of a person should ultimately beholding that shield and with the history of this country and how African-Americans would feel about being a Captain America or not.”
He added that being a series helped it handle many serious themes in an episodic manner. It means there will be more room to show the psychological drama between the characters. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will also explore the backstories, diving deep into every character’s life. In this manner, fans will also have a greater sense of connection with them and the show in its entirety.
The Disney+ title will be the second phase four-installment this year, after WandaVision. The latter made its debut earlier in January. As of now, it’s also among one of MCU’s top-rated entries on Rotten Tomatoes.
Upcoming MCU shows and movies
Meanwhile, the rest of the cinematic universe is preparing itself to give out more fresh content in the coming months. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the franchise in an unexpectedly wrong way. All the previously announced projects, along with the finished ones, are currently witnessing long delays.
When it comes to TV shows, then after WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Ms. Marvel, and Hawkeye are next to arrive. But the pandemic is causing a delay in their production. Moon Knight, Secret Invasion, Armor Wars, and She-Hulk are yet to start filming.
The situation is even worse on the side of movies, with titles like Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals waiting for a release. These films are possibly done with their production, but the situation doesn’t seem to become standard in the next few months. Speaking of what may happen, then it looks like Marvel Studios, unwillingly, will release them exclusively on Disney Plus because a theatrical debut doesn’t seem likely unless cases of Coronavirus slow down in the coming months.
