Battlefield 2042 fans are annoyed with DICE at the moment due to the fact there’s no first-person option for melee attack animations.
Although Battlefield 2042 is making drastic changes compared to its predecessors, it seems like some of them might not be great!
‘Battlefield 2042’ release: What to expect?
The upcoming entry will have a multiplayer mode instead of the traditional single-player campaign style. And thus, the game will offer the option of engaging 128 players in a single online match at once.
Along with this, Battlefield 2042 will also feature third-person melee animations. While the reaction was quite positive initially, now most of the fans don’t want it at all.
Simply put, the gaming community of the franchise are against the third-person melee animation option.
Recently, on Reddit, the community managed to gain over six thousand votes to force DICE to revert its decision.
Because the fans want a more personal and immersive experience while witnessing melee animations. Maybe that’s why the sudden change is making the fans annoyed since they are not used to a third-person perspective in terms of melee executions.
Another reason being that Call of Duty already has this feature of third-person animations. So Battlefield fans don’t want that in the upcoming new entry to distinguish between the two iconic action franchises.
It will be interesting to see what DICE decides to do while releasing Battlefield 2042 next month. It seems quite unlikely, though, that the dev team will now add another option of first-person.
