Former members of IZ*ONE, Chaewon and Sakura, were reported to be joining Hybe’s new female group.
Mnet seems to be the leader in survival show production, having produced some of the most popular survival programs in the K-pop business. I.O.I, IZ*ONE, and Enhypen have all become famous K-pop groups due to their performances.
In fact, Girls Planet 999 and Street Woman Fighter are two of the channel’s current survival programs. They’ve also recently joined up with Hybe for their upcoming competition program, I-Land 2. Fans, on the other hand, are hoping that Chaewon and Sakura will not be present.
Are Chaewon and Sakura returning for ‘I-Land 2’
Last year, Mnet and Hybe teamed together to create the survival program I-Land. The victors went on to create Enhypen, a well-known rookie band. They’re presently signed to Hybe’s BeLift Lab label.
Following the show’s popularity and the formation of a male group, Mnet and Hybe have agreed to air a second season, dubbed I-Land 2, in which a girl group would be formed and debuted. Former IZ*ONE member Chaewon and Sakura are two of the suspected participants.
However, Mnet’s most recent project group, IZ*ONE, created via the survival program Produce 48, did not do well.

The female group disbanded just as they were reaching its pinnacle. Chaewon and Sakura were two of the members. And now there’s talk that they’ll be joining Hybe’s newest female group.
Fans are concerned about Chaewon and Sakura
Fans were first overjoyed since Hybe is home to some of the most well-known and famous boy groups, including BTS, Seventeen, TXT, and Enhypen. However, the announcement of the new survival program has enraged fans of the two former members of IZ*ONE.
Some fans believe Chaewon and Sakura will be forced to participate in I-Land 2, even though their debut in the new female group has yet to be announced.
Fans do not want the two ladies to go through that hardship again after their terrible experiences in their first survival program, Produce 48, and the disbandment of IZ*ONE.
However, some optimistic fans believe Sakura will not participate since the show is only open to children born between 2000 and 2009, while she was born in 1998.
