Xbox head Phil Spencer has now released a brief update on Fable 4, noting that the game is in good hands as it’s with Forza studio Playground Games.
According to Spencer, he’s asking fans to have faith in the current Fable 4 team. He notes that the pedigree of the team can give the title the justice it needs. The Xbox boss tells that he “can’t wait to get to show more” of the game’s development.
Phil “can’t wait to get to show more” of next Fable
Speaking in the latest Dropped Frames podcast, Spencer commented on the current work for the next Fable title. Microsoft announced that a new title is in the works last year, with the game coming for the Xbox Series X|S and the PC.
With that said, Phil was happy enough to give everyone a quick project. In it, he notes that he’s confident with what the current team can do.
“The only thing I can really say about Fable is, seeing the pedigree of the team and Playground, and where they set the bar for themselves in building a game—I think that showed with the Forza Horizon 5 preview that they had—I think people should just take confidence in that studio director Gavin and the team there have that same level of focus on doing something amazing with an IP that we know is really important to a lot of Xbox fans, so we can’t wait to get to show more, but the team is just amazing,” said Spencer.
Playground Games dev team comes from the best studios
If it’s the Forza Horizon devs at Playground Games who are handling Fable 4, the game is likely in good hands. Playground has a great standing in the community for the quality of their work. Even recently, Forza Horizon 5 is the most good-looking game in E3.
Among the names in Playground right now, Will Kennedy is the chief designer for Fable. Kennedy worked on AAA titles including GTA V and GTA Online. Another name out there is Juan Fernandez de Simon, an alumni of Ninja Theory’s Hellblade.
Kim MacAskill and most of the team from the Batman: Arkham Knight scriptwriting are helping with the title. There are also people from Ubisoft that are working on the game’s art, including Adam Olsson of The Division 2 and Tom Isaksen of Ghost Recon.
Earlier this year, Anna Megill joined the team as lead writer, who helped write Control. Fable 4 is in the middle of development and still does not have a release date.
