Sony had a lot of big surprises during the recent PlayStation 5 Showcase. Apart from the games and the price of the upcoming console, the company also revealed the PlayStation Plus Collection.
Since being revealed, a lot of fans have been asking questions about the PlayStation Plus Collection. True enough, the PS Plus benefit wasn’t fully expounded on during the stream. Here are a few answers to some frequently asked questions about it.
What games are included? Will the list expand?
The list includes God of War, Bloodborne, Monster Hunter World, Final Fantasy XV, Fallout 4, Mortal Kombat X, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Ratchet and Clank, Days Gone, Until Dawn, Detroit: Become Human, Battlefield 1, Infamous Second Son, Batman Arkham Knight, The Last Guardian, The Last of Us, Persona 5, and, Resident Evil Biohazard.
We’ve yet to know whether or not Sony plans on increasing this list. However, it seems that the collection will be final. However, we can still expect Sony to release new free games through PS Plus each month. It’s likely that Sony will take PlayStation 4 titles for the PS Plus offerings for the PlayStation 5 as there won’t be many titles at launch.
When will it be available?
The collection will be available from the launch of the PlayStation 5 on Nov. 12. It seems like the collection will be around for a long time, so players don’t have to rush getting their subscriptions when they get their PlayStation 5.
Is it exclusive to the PS5?
Yes, the collection is exclusive to the PlayStation 5. The good news is that if players have the PlayStation 4 version of the game and they would like to continue their progress on the next-gen console, they can do so via the cloud save.
Is an extra payment needed?
The PlayStation Plus Collection is a benefit of being subscribed to Sony’s PS Plus. This subscription is account-wide and cross-platform. This means the PSN account with PS Plus that players are using on the PlayStation 4 will work on the PlayStation 5.
No extra payment is needed, as players will only need to be subscribed to the premium service.
The PS Plus Collection is Sony’s way of ensuring that players have a lot to play when the PlayStation 5 launches. Those who have yet to play any of these titles are in for a treat. Those who have already finished it may still want to play for nostalgia’s sake.
