The original FarmVille may already be meeting its demise following Facebook’s removal of Flash-based games in its platform and Adobe’s abandoning of the Flash technology itself. But its sequel, FarmVille 2: Country Escape, sees no stopping as it just got its biggest update since launch.
Making for a major expansion to the farming sim, the latest update introduces the Animal Park. True to its name, this new feature will add a highlight to a wide array and variety of animals. That is, all in the name of revitalizing an abandoned zoo and bring it back to its former glory.

The driving force behind this rather lofty and noble goal of bringing an empty and decaying zoo back to life is Rick. A Park Ranger and Zoologist who has come back to the farm in order to do just that.
More animals, more fun
Adding hours and hours of gameplay experience, the player will play the role of an aid who will rescue a diverse set of creatures. Aside from merely delivering them from the perils of the wild, part also of the task is to care for them. This meant that players now have access to a greater number of beasts to pay attention to, aside from the usual “livestock.”
While FarmVille 2: Country Escape, at its core, is about living the farm life, the overarching motif of the latest update indeed has its focus around animals. It is setting a necessary distraction from the game’s otherwise mundanity. But one which compels players to work as a group, essentially promoting the game’s social aspect. Which collectively, in turn, becomes the entire community.
Undying commitment to entertain
To bring this level of new content to several years’ old game is not without its commitment from its developers, however. Which, according to the game’s General Manager, Akshay Bharadwaj, is a result of its constant desire to keep its player base “entertained.” One that his team manages to fulfill by looking it at themes that are both interesting and fun.
It has been six long years since FarmVille 2: Country Escape was introduced as a game to the market. Since then, the game has remained strong as a title, drawing from its early success after receiving positive reception, including critics.
The franchise as a whole is longer still, which started with the original FarmVille, which sees the launch as a Facebook game in 2009.
FarmVille 2: Country Escape’s Animal Park officially sees the game’s launch back on Oct. 23, 2020.
