Fast and Furious: Is it too long?

Fast and Furious started humbly as yet another street racing neighborhood movie, but it raised the stakes. The series introduced new protagonists and characters, mesmerizing high-performance cars and high octane car chases.

The saga is known to fans worldwide for having Paul Walker, that vault-dragging heist in the streets of Rio, the never-ending runway in the climax of the 6th installment, and jumping through skyscrapers.

Now, Fast and Furious 9, tentative titles as F9, is in the making. The movie had a 2020 release date, but the COVID-19 pandemic pushed it to May 28, 2021.

The film has an ensemble cast including Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, and Ludacris.

Justin Lin, directed the series’ 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th film. Daniel Casey is the writer of the movie. In the ninth installment, John Cena makes his debut as the younger brother of Vin Diesel, Jakob, as a villain. The trailer for the movie was also released earlier.

Two more films

Universal Studios has announced that the Fast and Furious saga will end with the 10th and 11th films. Vin Diesel earlier confirmed that rumor that the 10th film will be broken into two parts: 10th and 11th films.

These movies will also be directed by Justin Lin and will mark the end only for this series. The studio will continue the making of spin-off movies. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw‘s movie is the first spin-off for this series, with Rock and Jason Statham. The movie garnered a collection of $759 million. Dwayne ‘Rock’ Johnson stated that a sequel for Hobbs and Shaw is under development.

Talks apart, the Fast and Furious series always had one of the best diverse representatives cast on-screen and off-screen. This is one of its key strengths, other than immersive stunts and action sequences. Fans are waiting to see their favorite movie franchise on screens soon and to enjoy their time.
