Valorant Ignition Series a test run for FaZe Clan
The organization has announced that it is tapping into the live streaming industry soon. That being said, the upcoming tournament is one of their trial runs.
The first tournament that they organized was the Fight2Fund back in March. It raised $125,000 in just four weeks. The tournament aims to produce funds for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organization partnered with Verizon recently as well. Both companies did the Pay It Forward Live event.
This event is a series of live streams. It highlighted several small businesses affected by the pandemic.
With that being said, the upcoming Valorant Ignition Series is under good hands with FaZe Clan.
Tournament date and schedule
The upcoming competition will start on August 6, at 2 p.m. PT. Riot will stream the competition on Twitch.
There are three channels who will stream the event namely FaZe, official Valorant Twitch, and Nerd Street Gamers.
FaZe Clan has not released the tournament mechanics yet. But, it might be similar to the previous Ignition series.
Valorant Ignition Series is on a roll this year
Riot announced the Valorant Ignition Series earlier this year. Several organizations conducted tournaments all around the globe as part of it.
According to Riot, the Ignition series is their way to produce worldwide tournaments. So far, the strategy has been effective.
Eleven tournaments were done since its launch. But expect more as the series progresses.
This month alone saw seven tournaments. Different regions conduct different competitions.
Valorant Ignition Series has different prize pools and different mechanics. As mentioned by Riot, the main reason is to cater to both amateurs and professionals.
The competition prize pool varies depending on the tournament. It ranges from a small $1,500 to as big as $50,000.
Riot explained that this is their way of opening up opportunities for aspiring Valorant players. As a result, there is a variety of prize pools as well.
