Eidos Montreal is currently surveying player interest as it seems a Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster is on its way for PC, together with a possible Tactics Ogre remaster.
Eidos Montreal, a studio subsidiary of Square Enix, seems to be playtesting a possible Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster for PC. Rumors on Reddit note that a survey is floating around asking if the testers have experience playing the game.
Playtester reveals survey for potential remaster
In a Reddit post on the Final Fantasy Tactics subreddit, an alleged playtester for Eidos Montreal named DrNanard, received a survey. The survey included several questions about old Playstation games, with a near-complete focus on FFT and another Square title, Tactics Ogre.
“I didn’t even know, just found out while searching for news regarding FF Tactics, because I just received an Eidos-Montreal playtest invitation (which also playtests Square Enix games in general), and everything seems to indicate they’re playtesting a tactical,” said the post.
“They were asking if I played Fire Emblem, FF Tactics, Ogre Battle, Disgaea, Into the Breach, etc. At first, I thought this was about Triangle Strategy. But while they didn’t ask if I played Octopath, they did ask if I played FF12 and it’s DS sequel. the only non-tactical FF games that take place in Ivalice.
“They also asked if I played FF Tactics PS1 AND if I played the iOS/Android version, which seemed weird, they never ask about multiple versions of the same game.”
What follows is the screenshot of the survey itself, which is weirdly specific to the Playstation game. This points out to a potential remasters of one of the best games of all time.
GeForce Now leak reinforces potential remaster
A Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster for the PC is something that is possible, thanks to another leak from months ago. In the GeForce Now leak, several titles floated up as potential remasters or PC ports, many of which were originally Playstation exclusives.
Among the titles in the GeForce Now list includes Uncharted, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War. Among the Square Enix titles listed include Kingdom Hearts 4, Chrono Cross Remaster, FF Tactics remaster, FF7 Remake, FF9 Remake, and FF 16.
Nvidia noted that the list was speculative but some titles, including God of War, are now coming to PC. From what it seems, the leak is almost an accurate representation of titles coming to the platform.
Final Fantasy Tactics is regarded as one of the best games of all time and the definitive title for isometric tactical RPG games. A Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster should be a welcomed addition for PC players.
