The first of the series of U.S. Presidential debate 2020 just wrapped up and it was full of interjection from both parties. Reports and critics dub the event as “chaos.”
Many may have expected for the first Presidential debate 2020 to be a bit bloody. However, how it went on, political analysts say it was more chaotic.
In general, The New York Times describes the event as: “In a chaotic, 90-minute back-and-forth, the two major party nominees expressed a level of acrid contempt for each other unheard-of in modern American politics.”
What went on: The non-stop interjecting
The debate covered main aspects that are deemed detrimental to the United States today. This meant both presidential candidates, Donald Trump and Joe Biden, expressed their stands on the matters of COVID-19, health care, and mail-in voting—among others.
The moderator of the debate was Fox News‘ very own Chris Wallace. At the start, Wallace had a hard time finishing his first question to President Trump. This due to the fact that he was always interrupted or interjected by the POTUS.
At many times during the debate, President Trump interrupted Biden when he spoke to a point that he demanded Trump to “shut up.”
“Will you shut up, man?” Biden told Trump. In an exasperated response to his rival’s behavior, he said, “This is so unpresidential.”
Although, there were also some points during Trump’s turn to speak that Biden interjected.
What critics thought of the first debate
Hedge fund investor Anthony Scaramucci served briefly at the White House, as Trump’s communications chief.
In an interview with CNBC’s Capital Connection, he described the presidential debate as an embarrassment.
“I don’t think anybody won. That debate, you know, was a little bit of an embarrassment to the country, frankly,” Scaramucci expressed. “I didn’t like it, I think most people didn’t like that debate,”
He also describes it as a “nasty debate” and an “interrupting match.”
“I don’t think the polls are going to move that much and if the markets have moved because of the debate, it will settle out over the next open if you will,” the Skybridge Capital founder predicted.
Moreover, Chris Wallace received as many criticisms as the two presidential candidates did. Per Newsweek, critics say the Fox News figure lost control of the debate.
Regardless who you’re pulling for, I think we can all agree that Joe Rogan would do a much better job moderating this thing than Chris Wallace. #Debates2020

Journalist Soledad O’Brien called out Wallace on Twitter, describing the scene as a mess. The outlet further quotes Podcaster Ira Madison on his tweet saying:
“The fact that Chris Wallace didn’t follow up on Trump’s ‘Proud Boys stand by’ call to violence. He’s an embarrassment. This debate is a joke.”
The alleged out of control has led to a call for a change in the moderator, which many believes should be Joe Rogan. Many influential people on Twitter, even Lance Armstrong was looking for the podcast icon.
What happened to this idea that @joerogan ought to host a presidential debate?! Time to restart that conversation.

Hopefully, the next series of debates will be more smooth, with lesser “chaos.” The second Presidential debate 2020 is penned in next month, October 15 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami.
Meanwhile, the first VP debate, which is between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence, will be on October 7 at Kingsbury Hall at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
