It has been a year since fans last saw Fleabag (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) and the Hot Priest (Andrew Scott). Although the story about these two already ended, is there still a chance for Fleabag Season 3?
The previous season ended when Fleabag told the Hot Priest she loved him, to which he replied, “It’ll pass.” As the scene suddenly cut to black, would it be the last time fans would see them together?
Will Phoebe Waller-Bridge return to Fleabag Season 3?
Phoebe Waller-Bridge already shut down hopes about the show’s third installment. However, fans remain hopeful about the series’ return.
In an interview with BBC, the 34-year-old star revealed that she had already thought about the new installment, and there would never be one.
“This is it—this is the final curtain,” she said. “And yes, I did say that last time.”
However, it seemed like she contradicted her own words in a different interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Although she believed the story’s done, she still had the fantasy to bring Fleabag back. But it might happen when she was already 40 to 50 years old.
“She went on the biggest journey over the past two seasons,” Phoebe Waller-Bridge explained. “She started as someone who sort of hated herself and ended up as someone believing that she could love again and forgive herself.”
As she felt the desire to respect and leave the arc as it was, she decided to “let her go and live for a bit.” She also added that the reasons to end the show never felt as rough as they did now.
“I’m a big follower of the old gut,” she continued.”

The end of Fleabag and the Hot Priest
Andrew Scott, alternatively, praised Phoebe Waller-Bridge for her ability to leave the show despite its critical success. In total, it has received 11 nominations from Primetime Emmys.
“With Phoebe, the thing that’s amazing about her is that she’s so instinctive about it,” he said, via BBC America. “I really admire that something’s been a huge success, and she goes: ‘No, no, no – this is what I’m going to do next year.'”
Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s ability to refuse to do Fleabag Season 3 just showed what kind of a person she is.
“I’m sure that there’s a lot of enticing things that she’s not been distracted by,” he explained. “I think that’s kind of admirable, in a way.”
As the future of Fleabag Season 3 remains sketchy, fans are still hopeful to see Fleabag and the Hot Priest together on the small screens once again.
