CD Projekt RED might receive an unexpected scenario later this year regarding its aspirations for more Cyberpunk 2077 sales.
The latest data from analysts suggest that Cyberpunk 2077 won’t sell as many copies as projected previously.
‘Cyberpunk 2077’ to suffer another blow?
Analysts from Dom Maklerski Banku Ochrony Środowiska or DM BOŚ have revised their predictions for CP77.
Previously, the game was supposed to sell 7 million and 9.3 million units in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
However, now these figures have come down drastically.
New predictions say that it will sell only 3.6 million and 5.9 million copies this year and the next one.
Initially, DM BOŚ stated that Cyberpunk 2077 would sell about 70 million units in its lifetime. Later, this number came down to 49 million in March.
And now, the analysts believe that the open-world title will only sell 35.2 million copies until the end of 2024.
But there might be one primary reason for such a vast decline in the sales projections.
At the moment, Cyberpunk 2077 still hasn’t returned to the PlayStation store. It’s been five months since it’s been removed from there following the launch controversy.
Moreover, its Polish developer also revealed that it lost around $51 million in giving back the refunds to the players.
It implies that physical sales won’t likely bring more revenue for the title in the coming months.
Last month the studio announced that despite a disastrous release, it sold around 13.7 million units worldwide.
But now it looks like the sci-fi title will suffer longer due to the many factors surrounding it since its hyped arrival in December.

What’s next for the CDPR title?
Meanwhile, the open-world game is going through a phase of revival. And it’s still far from achieving that at the moment.
CDPR did release few essential updates in the last five months, but they haven’t improved significantly.
However, the gameplay has become better when it comes to what it was during the launch.
Right now, those fans who love CP77 are hoping for great additions to it in the future.
Talking about the upcoming reveals then the developers have announced for major DLCs in the coming months.
A Panam-based downloadable content will be released soon for the players. Most of them are also expecting a dedicated DLC for characters such as Judy Alvarez and Jackie Welles.
