‘The Flash’ director teases surprises!

Share

Andy Muschietti, the director of the upcoming DC project The Flash, has just revealed that it will go where no film “hasn’t gone before.”

According to Comicbook, during Warner Bros.’ presentation at this year’s virtual CCXP convention, Andy Muschietti spoke about The Flash movie. He mentioned many things and teased that his take on the DC universe’s speedster will dive deep in new directions.

Muschietti’s directorial will see Ezra Miller playing Barry Allen, the faster man alive! He was last seen in 2017’s Justice League. Before that, he originally made a small cameo in 2016’s DC flick Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

“The Flash” movie early details

Speaking about the project at CCXP 2020, Andy Muschietti said that it would be exciting to go places where previous DCEU titles didn’t venture.

“I can’t wait to tell you more, but for now, I want to thank you for the support and for being such amazing fans.”

Well, this latest revelation comes after some past interactions of him with the media about The Flash. Earlier this year, talking to Vanity Fair, he told about the protagonist Barry Allen and how he’s important in the story.

“He’s the baseline. He’s part of that unaltered state before we jump into Barry’s adventure. There’s a familiarity there. This movie is a bit of a hinge in the sense that it presents a story that implies a unified universe where all the cinematic iterations that we’ve seen before are valid. It’s inclusive in the sense that it is saying all that you’ve seen exists, and everything that you will see exists, in the same unified multiverse.”

Meanwhile, officially, people already know that many DC characters will be seen in the upcoming movie. Michael Keaton’s 1989 version and Ben Affleck’s current iteration of Batman will also appear during the crossover events. It will be huge for the die-hard followers of DC comics. They haven’t seen such a thing in any superhero flick yet!

Upcoming DCEU projects

Talking of Flash, then its production will begin in early 2021, and the theatrical release is slated for November 2022. Due to COVID-19, it has also suffered a big push forward in the original schedule. Initially, it was about to come in June of 2022.

Apart from The Flash, many DC titles are about to come next year, starting with this year’s end. Wonder Woman 1984 is eventually arriving in theaters and on HBO Max, simultaneously. After that, fans will witness the highly anticipated Snyder Cut of Justice League on the streaming service. Other future releases include The Batman, Shazam 2, Black Adam, and the yet-to-be-announced Aquaman 2.
