Recent Fortnite leaks point to the return of Zombie Husks this Halloween. However, their return may not be in the way most people would think.
It’s that time of the year again when people bring out their Halloween decorations and start searching for costumes to wear. Fortnite is no different. In fact, its Halloween event, Fortnitemares, has become a highly-anticipated tradition in the game. And for this year, players can expect tons of surprises in store for them.
A big Zombie Husks comeback on Fortnite?
Currently, not much is really known about the upcoming Fortnitemares 2020. The game did reveal a little bit about the emotes and some items that players would see. However, when it comes to the actual content, most are just speculation for now.
One likely event to happen is the return of the 2018 Zombie Husks. There is really not much to go on in terms of information. But according to a leak made by Mang0e, the Fortnite 14.30 update did change the sound for the Zombies cube spawners a bit.

The Fortnite community is still yet to determine the significance of this information. But given the Cube spawners’ importance to the Zombie Husks, it’s highly likely that Epic is prepping them up for a big return.
Possible twist
The game first introduced Zombie Husks back in 2017 as a Save The World event. But the Zombie Husks that players know today made their appearance in 2018’s Halloween event.
In the event, players had to fend off hordes of the ominously glowing undead. Cubes would appear around the map and spawn these monsters. In that same year, however, the Zombie Husks received a lot of heat from the community. This is because they spawned a massive amount of the undead at one time. This definitely made it difficult for players to handle the zombie horde.
Because of the controversy, Epic had to change these zombies up a bit in 2019.
For this year, Epic Games just might change it up again with the Zombie Husks. Their changing of the Cube spawners’ sound could be a sign that something big is about to happen in Fortnitemares 2020.
A yearly twist would certainly make for interesting Halloween content in Fortnite.
When will Fortnitemares 2020 begin?
Again, Epic Games is yet to make an official announcement. It is interesting to note that the 14.40 update for the game will be released today, October 21. Many believe that this will be the last major update before Halloween. This could mean that the Fortnite Fortnitemares 2020 could kick off just after this event.
