Forza Horizon 5 unveiled 11 of their newest biomes in the upcoming game, showing off what will come out of their Mexico landscape.
Playground Games released 11 screenshots of their brand new biomes for Forza Horizon 5. The devs are giving players a closer look at what they can expect for the next-gen Forza title. The newest of these biomes is the swamp, offering a different way to go around the world.
Devs underscore why Mexico is the best choice
Following their Forza “Let’s Go” livestream, the devs released a first look at the game’s world. In an Xbox Wire blog, they showed off screenshots of their upcoming Mexico location. Mike Brown, the game’s creative director, detailed why they chose the country.
Brown notes that there is an incredible culture in-store for players who will give it a try. The fascinating array of music, art, and people would work for the Horizon Festival.
“We knew from the beginning that we wanted this to be the biggest Forza Horizon yet. However, if we wanted to be the biggest, then we felt we also needed to offer the most diversity and contrast as well,” said Brown.
“Mexico is almost like the whole world in one country: snowy peaks, tropical jungles, epic canyons, beautiful beaches, ancient architecture, and modern cities. When you add on Mexico’s incredible culture – the music, the art, the history, the people – there is no more exciting location for the Horizon Festival.”
FH5 biomes to include various seasons
Forza Horizon 5 announced 11 biomes in total. These include the canyon, tropical coast, arid hills, farmland, jungle, living desert, sand desert, and rocky coast. There’s also the swamp, volcano, and the urban city of Guanajuato.
“Our team collects reference from the location and creates concept images that highlight the beauty and unique detail for each biome. We employ techniques such as photogrammetry to recreate the environment with precision accuracy,” says art director Don Arceta.
“And we bring the beauty of the world in, through the sights and sounds you’ll find throughout every area. The goal of the artistic process is to make it feel like you’re really there.”
The article reveals that they are also putting back seasons in the game. This should give FH5 a layer of additional diversity in gameplay. Every biome will also have a different way of transitioning through the seasons.
Many of these seasons will also consistently evolve as time passes by. The Forza Horizon 5 map will be 50% bigger than Horizon 4, which means more expansive gameplay.
