France: Three knife-killings in Nice amid protest

The unexpected and unmerciful crime in France: Knife-wielding man killed a woman and shot two other people in Nice on Thursday.

In yet another shocking and brutal attack in France, a knife-wielding man shouting “Allahu Akbar” killed a woman. He also shot two other people in a presumed terrorist attack at a church in Nice on Thursday, policemen and officials said.

The attack in France

Police said three bodies were verified to have died in the attack, and the attacker harmed several.

A policemen source said the same killer also decapitated a woman. French diplomat Marine Le Pen also spoke of a beheading having transpired in the attack.

Nice’s mayor, Christian Estrosi, who called the attack terrorism, said on Twitter that it had happened in or near the Notre Dame church.

It also said that police had restrained the attacker.

The brutal killing

Estrosi told the attacker had yelled the phrase “Allahu Akbar,” or God is greatest.

One of the people killed in the church was allegedly the churchwarden, Estrosi.

“The attacker kept yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’ even after his detainment,” Estrosi told.

“The speculated knife attacker was killed by police while being arrested, he is on his way to the dispensary, he is alive,” Estrosi informed reporters.

The pattern in the killings in France

“Enough is enough,” Estrosi stated. “It’s time presently for France to absolve itself from the laws of peace to clear out Islamo-fascism from our nation definitively.”

Estrosi added that the killings took place in a “horrible form.”

“The methods resemble, without suspicion, those used against the strong teacher in Conflans Sainte Honorine, Samuel Paty,” he said.

He refers to a French teacher decapitated earlier this month in a crime in a suburb of Paris.

Owing to the power in number

Since Paty’s assassination, French officials – backed by many ordinary citizens – have re-asserted the freedom to display the cartoons.

The pictures, shown at walks in solidarity for the killed teacher. That has provoked an outpouring of rage in parts of the Muslim world.

Consequently, some courts are blaming French governor Emmanuel Macron for pursuing an anti-Islam schedule.

The world reaches out to France

Interestingly, earlier this week noticed #StandWithFrance trending on Twitter. In fact, according to some French media sources, the hashtag rose in India.

The Canadian Foreign minister also reached out in aid of France.

A Canadian FM also tweeted, “We rise in solidarity with our French comrades. Turkey’s recent remarks about France are unacceptable.”

“We must revert to respectful diplomatic dialogues. We will always stand collectively to defend the independence of expression with respect.”
