Free ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ DLC delayed, will arrive in a few months

CD Projekt Red wants to focus on fixing Cyberpunk 2077 even more. And keeping that in mind, it has slightly delayed the launch of free DLC.

According to Dualshockers, CD Projekt Red’s co-founder Marcin Iwiński shared the news himself in a video. He told the fans that the free Cyberpunk 2077 DLC would arrive a bit late. They want to completely fix the issues in the title and want to focus on that as of now.

Moreover, he also issued a personal apology to all the gamers across the globe who faced post-launch performance issues.

Cyberpunk 2077: What’s the current scenario?

Speaking of the latest CDPR’s co-founder’s latest video message, he took responsibility for what the gamers have gone through so far.

“The board and I are the final decision-makers, and it was our call to release the game.”

However, he assured everyone that the developer would once again try to regain the trust of its users and fans of Cyberpunk 2077.

Coming onto the bugs, he said that CD Projekt Red is working on fixing the issues right now. And that fans should “expect bigger and smaller patches regularly.”

Regarding the free DLC and next-gen upgrades, he said:

“Our initial plan was to release them just after the release, much like we did with The Witcher 3. We decided to focus on the most important fixes and updates first, and we’ll be releasing the DLCs afterward. Expect more information in the upcoming months.”

So it definitely means that the date for DLCs is not finalized yet. It may take up several months more from now on. In the meantime, the patches and bug fixes will keep coming.

At the end of his message, he again reassured the fans that CDPR still wants to make amazing games.

What’s next for 2020’s most-awaited title?

Meanwhile, all those who bought the highly-awaited game of 2020 just before Christmas are still unsure if they still want to keep it or not because many of the buyers have already got their refunds following a flood of complaints and performance issues end of December.

Despite witnessing several improvements since its launch, Cyberpunk 2077 is still filled with unexpected problems regarding its graphics. Only the PC players are getting a good experience with compatible machines and powerful processors. On the other hand, users of Xbox and PS4 consoles are among the disappointed ones.

Recently, the CDPR title also faced an exit from Steam’s list of top ten games. And it’s all due to the refund issue that took place a few days after a big release on December tenth, last year.
