Free-to-play MMORPG ‘Bless Unleashed’ headed to Steam in early 2021

Free-to-play MMORPG 'Bless Unleashed' headed to Steam early 2021

Recently released Xbox One online RPG Bless Unleashed is making its way to PC sometime next year, according to its official Steam page.

Developer Round8 Studios’ open-world Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game (MMORPG) Bless Unleashed made its debut on the Xbox One earlier this year and was originally published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.

That doesn’t seem to be the case for the Steam version, however, as it looks like South Korean publisher Neowiz will be handling the PC port, as shown on the game’s Steam page.

Bless Unleashed will be a free-to-play title, but will likely contain in-game purchases, and is slated for release early next year.

Key features of Bless Unleashed

According to the game’s Steam description, players will be able to choose to play Bless Unleashed with other gamers, or take on the world on their own, which is a rather peculiar statement for an MMORPG since the genre usually encourages teaming up.

The action-heavy title promises a deep skill and development system, as well as a fluid narrative that takes shape according to the player’s choices.

Bless Unleashed takes place in the fictional world of Lumios, where gamers can choose between five different classes across four unique races, all of which have distinct traits and combos.

Round8 Studios dropped an official PC announcement video for their upcoming release, showing off an incredibly dramatic cinematic that highlights some of the game’s classes, races, and enemies.

Nothing to write home about

Round8 Studios and Bandai Namco Entertainment released Bless Unleashed on the Xbox One on March 12, 2020, to a mixed reception.

Most critics agreed that, at its core, it’s a serviceable MMORPG with some interesting classes and an expansive world that isn’t marred by an overly pay-to-win structure—a common pitfall among free-to-play titles.

Unfortunately, that’s pretty much where the praises end. According to reviewers, Bless Unleashed is plagued with consistent technical and localization issues, clunky controls, poor performance, and overall lack of endgame content.

According to gaming publication KeenGamer, they tested the original Japanese version of the game which fared a lot better performance-wise, in addition to featuring more classes and complete endgame content.

On the plus side, the developers have been known to do their due diligence in supporting the title, and take criticisms and feedback fairly well.

Here’s hoping Round8 Studios and Neowiz manage to iron out most of Bless Unleashed’s kinks before shipping it out to Steam users worldwide.
