'Friends' reunion special almost got canceled because of Brad Pitt cameo: Rumor

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow’s Friends reunion will finally push through. And there were claims that Brad Pitt is one of the stars that would make a cameo.

However, New Idea claimed that the reunion special didn’t almost push through because of Brad Pitt. After all, the entire cast of Friends except for Aniston is worried that the actor would overshadow their project.

“When the list of cameo appearances came out, Brad’s name was the ‘big surprise guest’ and there’s no doubt it will get a lot of attention from the show,” the source said.

‘Friends’ cast members not thrilled to work with Brad Pitt again

Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, allegedly, took issue with Pitt’s cameo. And Cox and Kudrow were also worried that the Aniston-Pitt saga would overshadow everything.

Pitt previously appeared in Friends while he was still married to Aniston. Four years after his cameo, Pitt and Aniston called it quits.

Years after their divorce, sources revealed that Aniston and Pitt are still friends. In fact, they have reunited both in public and in private in recent years.

Rumors debunked

However, one should still take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. After all, there is no confirmation from the heads of the Friends reunion that Pitt will be making a cameo.

And if he is, it is unlikely for this information to be leaked to the tabloids because it’s meant to be a surprise.

Until today, Aniston and Pitt still have a lot of fans and they’re still rooting for the exes to get back together. So, it’s unlikely for Pitt’s cameo to cause an uproar among them.

Cox has also been supportive of Aniston and Pitt’s relationship. In fact, when the A-listers reunited at an awards show last year, Cox liked a photo of Aniston and Pitt together.

Friends reunion will, reportedly, air on HBO Max sometime this year. Last December, the streaming site dropped a teaser showing Aniston and LeBlanc talk about the possibility of a reunion.

Later in the clip, the other cast members expressed their excitement over the possibility of reprising their roles. However, there was no mention of Brad Pitt.
