Stripped-down, Android Go-powered Galaxy phone
The complete specs sheet of the budget-friendly smartphone is now released to the wild, courtesy of SamMobile. Accordingly, the device is set to arrive with a 5.3-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1,480 pixels, employing a PLS TFT LCD panel type.
The handset’s accompanying images also revealed that the Galaxy A01 Core will still feature bezels on top and bottom. A neat-looking, plastic-made back panel can also be seen, which is only interrupted by its rear camera setup.
Talking about cameras, the handset is slated to feature a single 8MP primary sensor on its rear, with an aperture of f/2.2. At the front, the phone is expected to pack a 5MP front-facing snapper with f/2.4 aperture.
MediaTek chip with dual SIM support
Under the proverbial hood, the Samsung Galaxy A01 Core is slated to be powered by MediaTek MT6739 chipset. The phone is then set to be paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The latter is also said to come with support for storage expansion via the phone’s microSD card slot.
Moreover, the device is pegged to come with a Micro USB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual SIM support.
A removable battery
Easily the most striking features of the Galaxy A01 Core can be found in its battery offerings. As per the leak, the upcoming entry-level device will be launched with a removable battery, which should make it stand out among the crowd of options in its class. This is especially true with those that feature non-removable batteries.
Samsung is still mum about the pricing and availability of the Galaxy A01 Core. But as the phone’s production has now reportedly started in India, we can expect these detail to pop up anytime.
Speculations are rife that the Galaxy A01 Core could debut this month. In terms of pricing, the phone is expected to go lower than the Galaxy A01’s price tag at the time of its launch, which settles at EUR 120.
