The Galaxy A12 carries the model number SM-A125F and is now in development at Samsung’s quarters and could be officially unveiled in the upcoming few months.
Samsung announced its Galaxy A11 earlier this year, and within a short time, the Korean tech giant is already planning on its successor.
However, reports claim that the upcoming Galaxy phone is a budget offering from Samsung. And it won’t have many differences compared to its predecessor.
Samsung Galaxy A12 Specs
The rumored Galaxy A12 will be another budget phone in Samsung’s A Series smartphone portfolio. The Galaxy A11 will be the basis for defining the specs of the upcoming budget phone.
Samsung Galaxy A12 has the model number SM-A125F. The smartphone will come with two storage variants: 32GB and 64GB. The mobile device will not be ‘drastically different’ from its entry-level predecessor. However, the specs should have satisfied readers’ expectations.
The Galaxy A11 comes with a 6.4-inch HD+ Infinity-O Display, has 3GB of RAM, and only comes in a 32GB storage variant. It features a triple rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging.
As reported by GSMArena, the Galaxy A12 is expected to keep the A11’s PLS TFT touchscreen as well as sport a triple rear camera setup. However, the exact details of this feature haven’t been outed yet.
The upcoming budget phone will have a capacitive fingerprint sensor somewhere on its body, most likely at the back. As of now, there are a lot of blanks in the spec-sheet of the Galaxy A12. Samsung hasn’t quite filled them in with its press statements as of now, so we have no choice but to wait.
Possible Release Date
Samsung launched the Galaxy A11 in March this year as the cheapest Galaxy A series smartphone with a punch-hole display. Now, within five months of its release, a report says that the company is working on its successor called Galaxy A12.
The Galaxy A12 is said to be offered in black, white, red, and blue color options. It is to be noted that Samsung filed trademark applications for the Samsung Galaxy A12 smartphone in January.
No further details are available at this point. Perhaps Samsung might ship the device with a larger battery, at least larger than the Galaxy A11’s 4,000mAh battery. Since the device has only just entered development, it might take a few months before it sees the light of day.
