Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 2 specifications and features have leaked once again in a comprehensive report from a Korean tech news site.
While the Galaxy Note 20 is earning most of the attention toward Samsung right now, the upcoming Galaxy Fold 2 remains one of the most highly-anticipated smartphones that we know of.
Although reports over the last two weeks have indicated that the Fold 2 won’t be shown at Samsung’s August 5 Unpacked event, a slate of specs has just leaked. The revelation provides a clearer picture of how Samsung Fold 2 might end up.
Galaxy Fold 2 display
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will, reportedly, feature a 7.7-inch foldable AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Ultra-Thin Glass layer. The cover display measures 6.23-inch diagonally, but there is no information on its resolution data.
As reported by Tom’s World, we can expect Fold’s next display to see an upgrade in technology as well as its size. It may have 120Hz maximum refresh rate, like what’s in the Galaxy S20 series, and soon the Galaxy Note 20 as well.
Specs and Battery
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will support 15W fast wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging. Previous rumors have suggested that Samsung will put both a 2,090 mAh battery and a 2,275 mAh battery inside the Galaxy Z Fold 2
If this is true, it will give the phone total battery capacity of 4,365 mAh. We can also expect the foldable phone to feature a Snapdragon 865+ processor, 12GB of RAM, support for 5G networks, and up to 256GB non-expandable storage; a 512GB option may also be offered.
Galaxy Fold 2 Camera
Samsung’s foldable phone will, reportedly, come equipped with a 12MP primary camera. It will also wear a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64MP telephoto camera.
If these reports are accurate, then we can conclude that these camera features are precisely the same as what you’ll find on Galaxy S20.
Two 10MP selfie cameras, one on the inside and one on the outside, are also expected. Also available is a rear-facing triple-lens camera array. This is great because you have the option to close or open the flip and still take a selfie.
More gadgets from Samsung
While the Galaxy Fold 2 looks exciting from these leaks, it’s worth pointing out that it’s far from the only foldable Samsung will offer. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G, which we do expect to see at the Unpacked event in a few weeks, is also waving.
Aside from that, a tentatively called Galaxy Fold Lite, a cheaper version of the Fold 2, is also coming. This smartphone could replace the Fold 2’s external display with a strip for notifications, and carry fewer cameras as well.
